Grifola frondosa

Grifola frondosa (Maitake) es un hongo comestible por su contenido en vitamina D2 (ergocalciferol), minerales (K, P, Na, Ca, Mg), con bajo contenido calórico y alto porcentaje en trealosa, ácido glutamico y ácido aspártico. Hacen que este hongo tenga gran valor gastronómico. Además de sus propiedades nutricionales y medicinales. Los compuestos bioactivos, se han reportado β-glucanos, Grifolan y heteroglicanos, que han mostrado actividades antitumorales e inmunomoduladoras, antioxidantes. También se han reportado esteroles y compuestos fenólicos, los cuales presentaron efecto sobre la microbiota intestinal. Algunos investigadores proponen que extractos de Grifola frondosa puede presentar actividad antiviral contra VPH o efecto inmunomodulador.
